I think i have a manual for mine if there was any particular part i could scan it & email it to you. Thanks, but I was looking for the complete manual, just bought the R65 yesterday with Watsonian sidecar attached, needs some tender loving care, was sitting in a barn for the last ten years, engine not running. My project for the next few months, found a manual on Ebay for 20 euro will probably splash out on it as it will be well used in the next few months. Thanks for the offer. Any advice on restoring the R65 would be greatly appreciated.

Any advice on restoring the R65 would be greatly appreciated. Which manual? The BMW manuals aren't that good, except for the tech specs etc, they assume youve done the bmw training Volumetrix Serial Season there. !!

And know how to dismantle and reassemble things. The Haynes & Clymers are better for resto work as they tend to have more pictures & Photo's, and can be easier to follow. Just what I've found over the last couple of years. How long did it pull the chair for, d'ya know?

I've been offered a sidecar for mine at a very good price but I've heard the r65 isn't really up to it. Weak subframe for mounting it for one and needs gearing down as well. Have'nt much information on the history, previous owner passed away three years ago.

I dont expect it to be great for pulling the sidecar, I think the bike is only about 45 bhp. Could'nt resist a bargain. Done a bit of research, as you say I came accross it some where about the weak subframe, spoke to the previous owners wife, sidecar was professionly fitted and herself and the husband went touring all over Ireland and never any problems with it. Thanks for the information lads, just bought a Haynes manual on ebay, picking up the bike on thursday, some bird droppings on the bike as it was laid up in a barn, hopefully it will clean up ok. Will try to post up a couple of pictures of it.
